Michael is Director at GRE Finance, having cofounded the firm with Daniel Benton in 2020. He has more than 16 years’ experience working across the finance, banking, and real estate sectors, and alongside property developers, investors, and family offices.

Michael started his career in 2007 as a credit analyst at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, before joining the real estate finance team at Barclays, where he was responsible for the deal execution and client acquisition of large public property companies. He then joined Capital A Finance, a privately held property finance business specialising in residential development.

In 2016, Michael joined Topland Group, where he was actively involved in the growth of the loan book from £85m to £500m, and the acquisition and disposal of more than £200m of supported living portfolios.

Prior to co-founding GRE Finance, Michael set up Stonegrove Capital, a property finance brokerage, closing more than £350m of debt and equity transactions. The firm specialised in providing debt advice, transaction structure and execution to property developers, investors, and family offices.

Daniel is Director of GRE Finance, cofounding the firm with his business partner, Michael Mirelman, in 2020.

Having worked in the property industry for nearly two decades, Daniel’s comprehensive understanding of the real estate landscape and his personal approach to dealmaking allows him to get to the crux of his clients’ requirements and structure funding options accordingly. He has built a reputation for getting deals done: his attention to detail and sector knowledge allows him to act decisively, seeing opportunities in transactions that others might overlook.

Daniel’s property career began in 2003. In 2005, he acquired his own estate agency specialising in residential property in west London. Following a successful period of growth, the company was sold in 2014.

Over the last 20 years, Daniel has directly acquired over £250m worth of UK investment and development assets. He has also advised on and managed numerous developments, operating across all aspects of planning, construction, finance, and sales. He brings this experience to add value to every client we work with.

Clare joined GRE Finance as an Associate Director in January 2024. Prior to joining GRE Finance, Clare was at leading UK specialist real estate investor, Octopus Real Estate, where she specialised in the origination of real estate debt transactions.  Clare has gained extensive knowledge and experience through working with a range of clients, including funds, to deliver positive outcomes.

Clare is chair of the Association of Real Estate Funds’ Future Generation Committee and is a member of the Management Committee. Clare’s passion for property investment is showcased by her enthusiasm and the fresh perspective she brings to the team.

Clare holds a master’s degree in Real Estate, Investment and Finance from Henley Business School.

Archie joined GRE Finance in 2024 as an Analyst. He has more than 10 years of experience in real estate finance and his career has seen him build successful long-term relationships with finance brokers, lenders, and developers.

Archie specialises in origination, underwriting, and execution. Past roles have seen him monitoring mezzanine loans, working alongside high street lenders, working with challenger banks’ institutional funds and HNWIs, as well as providing recommendations on strategic and operational decisions within a managed portfolio of projects.

Archie began his finance career at Proseed Capital, a specialist residential mezzanine development finance provider, where he provided tailored facilities to residential developers across the UK. He later went on to join Hilltop Credit Partners, where he was an Associate Investment Analyst.

Mike is a Chartered Accountant with more than 34 years’ experience as Finance Director of a group of companies in the UK, overseeing over £1 billion of residential and commercial investments and developments.

From 2010-2016, Mike was an active board member of both an AIM quoted plc and a Jersey real estate fund. His responsibilities included a series of acquisitions and disposals of assets located across Europe and the UK.

Mike has built a strong reputation for his skills in financial reporting, capital raising and financial structuring. His work establishing and maintaining successful relationships with key investors and funding partners has underscored his long and productive career.

Since 2012, Mike has been active in real estate senior debt and mezzanine lending, with loan amounts totalling well over £500 million.
